Partenza da Messina, sosta (il tempo è da concordare) al centro di Taormina (Porta Messina) all’inizio del corso principale (C.so Umberto) da dove si può visitare il Teatro Greco, il Palazzo Corvaia, il Duomo ammirare i vicoli ed il paesaggio mozzafiato che si presenta dalla piazza principale. Spostamento verso la parte alta di Taormina, per vedere l’Etna e la famosa Isola Bella. Trasferimento a Savoca, con sosta nella piazza principale per visitare il famoso Bar Vitelli, set del film “Il padrino” di Francis Coppola. Possibilità di passeggiata a piedi per visitare la chiesa madre ed ammirare il panorama della valle. Rientro a Messina, con visita a Cristo Re per ammirare il panorama dello Stretto, visita al Duomo ed alla famosa Torre con orologio (terza torre d’Europa e rientro)

Centro turistico internazionale a circa 200 metri sul livello del mare, famosa per il suo incantevole paesaggio naturale, per le bellezze marine e dei suoi monumenti storici. La nascita di questo importante centro turistico isolano fu determinata dall’arrivo di alcuni profughi greci provenienti dalla vicina città di Naxos, già conquistata precedentemente da Dionigi I di Siracusa e tra le più antiche colonie greche isolane, nel 358 A.C., origine che prevede un nome diverso da quello attuale per la città, cioè Tauromenion.

La storia di questo centro turistico continuò con la conquista di varie dominazioni, Arabi, Svevi, Galli e Borboni. Oggi Taormina ha una conformazione particolare cha la fa somigliare, nella sua struttura, ad una vera terrazza arricchita da una bella vista panoramica nella quale spicca in maniera prepotente il vicino vulcano Etna. Il turismo è attivo tutto l’anno ed è agevolato non solo dalla bellezza culturale e naturalistica, ma anche da un buon sistema ricettivo e ricreativo e dal tipico calore umano siciliano.

Savoca, borgo arroccato sopra un colle roccioso. È anche nominata "paese dalle sette facce" e "Terra ferace di gagliardi ingegni". Città d'arte, dal 2008 è inserita nel circuito dei Borghi più belli d'Italia. Conserva, nel suo territorio, monumenti edifici di origine medioevale, rinascimentale e barocca. È famoso anche perché possiede una cripta in cui sono custodite ed esposti 37 cadaveri mummificati appartenenti a patrizi, avvocati, notai del paese risalenti ai secc. XVIII e XIX e, per essere stato scelto come set di numerosi film di grande successo, come il Padrino di Francis Ford Coppola del 1972 e La vita rubata del 2007. Conserva, nel suo centro storico, i ruderi di un'antichissima sinagoga medioevale, trasformata in civile abitazione dopo il 1470.

Departure from Messina, stop (time to agree upon) at the centre of Taormina (Porta Messina) at the beginning of the main street (corso Umberto) from which you can visit the Greek Theatre, Palazzo Corvaia, the Cathedral. You can Admire lanes and breath-taking landscape from the main square. Then you’ll move to the high side of Taormina, to see “Etna” and the famous “Isola Bella” (Beautiful Island). From Taormina you’ll move to Savoca, a stop at the main square to visit the famous “Bar Vitelli” set of the movie “The Godfather” by Francis Coppola. You may walk to visit the Mother Church and admire the valley landscape. Return to Messina with a visit to “Cristo Re” to admire the view of the Strait of Messina, to the Cathedral and to the famous Clock Tower (the third tower in Europe) and return.

International, touristic place at 200 metres above the sea-level, Taormina is famous for its wonderful natural landscape and for its historical monuments. The birth of this important touristic town was due to the arrival of some Greek refugees from the neighbouring town of Naxos, already conquered by Dionigi I from Syracuse and among the oldest Greek insular colonies. Its ancient name was Tauromenion. This town was conquered later by the Arabian, the Swabian, the Gauls and the Bourbonists. Today Taormina has got a particular shape similar to a terrace overlooking a beautiful view where the near volcano Etna stands out. Tourism is active all the year and it’s helped not only by the cultural and naturalistic beauty, but also by the typical Sicilian warmth.

Savoca, village built upon a rocky hill, is also named “the town with seven faces” and “land rich in brilliant brains”. Town of art, since 2008, it is one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. It keeps monuments and buildings of medieval, renaissance and baroque origin. It is famous also because there is a >strong> crypt with 37 mummified bodies of noblemen, lawyers of the town dating from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. It is famous also as a set in 1972 for “the Godfather” by Francis Ford Coppola and “La vita rubata” (“The stolen life”) in 2007. It keeps, in its historical heart, the ruins of ancient medieval synagogue, turned into a house after 1470.
